During recent years, bathrooms have increased in size and this has meant new decoration techniques have been developed; there is so much scope available these days, especially with larger bathrooms, it seems a shame to waste the opportunity. It is probably because we all take longer in this room than we used too, so employing a few bathroom decorating ideas to liven it up makes it all that more enjoyable. Why shouldn’t this room be a pleasant place to visit especially when you may relax in a bath for 30 minutes or more.

It is often a good showing point for your ideas when your friends come around to see how you have used your bathroom decorating ideas. This will prove you take pride in your home. There isn’t much point in spending thousands of dollars making other rooms pleasant to live in if you are going to leave your bathroom in a state of poor decoration.

So if you like the look of certain plants on small tables throughout the house then there is no reason why this same theme should not continue in the bathroom as well. Small round or square tables are also good for magazines, which is something else that will not look out of place in your bathroom.

Similarly, you can apply your ideas to the rest of your house if you haven’t already decided on a theme. Tiles are a prime example of this type of reverse decoration as they can be used almost anywhere and are not restricted to just a few rooms where they are traditionally found.

If a bathroom tile has a particular pattern there are many places where it could be used to augment the feel of the home including the kitchen. Tiles are usually the first aspect of decorating to be looked at for both the kitchen and the bathroom but there are many more decorating ideas which should not be overshadowed.

Beside the tiles, there are many creative things that you can do with the soap and the soap trays. Many guides to bathroom decoration suggest that you make your own soap trays.

In fact, a number of magazines have illustrated how to make a soap tray or dish out of common clay. I have always found that even if you do nothing else, a relaxing picture, perhaps of woodland, lake or seashore can make a great deal of difference to a bathroom. With the materials and information available today, there is no excuse not to turn your bathroom into something very special.
